SU-EATABLE LIFE - Newsletter 2
A
project designed to measure the impact that eating habits have on the
environment and to inspire healthier and more sustainable dietary choices for people and the Planet.
Climate change affects us all. Our daily actions have an impact on the world around us. Through
our everyday choices, we can all make a difference. We can decide to be part of
the problem or be part of the solution.
Among the actions that most affects the
planet’s natural resources and climate change, our dietary choices play
a major role. This is the reason for the launch of SU-EATABLE LIFE, a
three-year project funded by the European Commission that aims to understand
how to engage citizens to adopt a more sustainable and healthy diet,
with the goal of improving people’s health and, at the same time, reducing
greenhouse gas emissions and the water footprint related to food.
Starting from November, SU-EATABLE LIFE launches in company and university canteens, following a three-phase plan: the analysis of people’s eating habits, the offer of sustainable dishes linked to information, education and engagement activities and, finally, the analysis of results achieved.

Take part to the SU-EATABLE LIFE mid-term conference
The 10° International Forum on Food and Nutrition (Dec 03, Milan) will host the SU-EATABLE LIFE mid-term conference, during which we will explore three main issues:
-
what
a sustainable diet is and why it is important to promote a change in dietary
habits of people, both for their health and the Planet;
-
the
main results obtained so far by the SU-EATABLE LIFE project, presenting a
series of guidelines to sustainable eating and describing the ongoing
experiments in company and university canteens;
-
best
practices in promoting sustainable healthy diets at the business and academic
level.
The Forum is organized by Barilla Foundation, lead partner of the project.
